NB MUA is now Green

The North Bergen MUA will put into effect its new Recycling Routes. Find out your recycling pick-up day here! 

The North Bergen Municipal Utilities Authority operates 2 major wastewater treatment plants in the Township of North Bergen. The treatment plants currently process a combined flow of 10 million gallons per day and meet or exceed State and Federal mandated standards. In addition, the NBMUA has built CSO Netting Facilities at 9 locations throughout the municipality. The Netting Facilities capture and remove approximately 35 tons per year of sanitary and street litter that washes to the rivers during storms.

Also, our solid waste department collects over 40 million pounds of household waste per year and 5 million pounds of recyclable material. If you would like more information on household or recycling pick-ups, please click on "sanitation".
